Guy Gourley MA, LPC, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Guy holds dual Masters degrees in Counseling from Colorado Christian University and Biblical Studies
from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, and an active member in the International
Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, American Association of Christian Counselors and the American Counseling Association.
While in Denver, Guy was a psychotherapist in a large group practice working with individuals and couples with anger management
and domestic violence issues. As a result, he is highly effective in working with struggling couples. Additionally, Guy worked
closely with the court system, probation department and Child Protective Services in areas of anger management, sexual addiction,
and forensic evaluations.
Guy furthered his expertise by joining a large group practice in Houston where he has worked primarily with marriages and couples
in relationship restoration, adolescent males with anger and/or attention deficit and adults with depression, anxiety, adjustment
problems and single life issues. He has a passion for relationship restoration and enrichment because he knows that if marriage
stays together the family stays together. He thoroughly enjoys combining his faith and spiritual direction to the counseling experience.
Whether developing seminars, counseling or speaking, Guy's heart for people and his passion for his work are evident. His entertaining
presentation is both motivating and hope invigorating. Guy's insightful and compassionate approach touches people's hearts where they
need it most. We hear his clients comment all the time how they once were uncertain about counseling and now it is like sitting down
with a coach or a good friend.
Guy is frequently requested to present his marriage enrichment seminar and speak at conferences, retreats, divorce recovery programs
and churches. Audiences everywhere overwhelmingly receive him.

Mary Engle

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Counseling and I practice counseling in the state of Texas (licensed professional counselor, LPC). I come to Legacy Christian Counseling Center with vast experience in the education and counseling arena. I have also been actively involved in Dimensional Journey, a non-profit Christian based life enrichment seminar. In working with Dimensional Journey, I have gained extensive experience in the area of group work. I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with the children, adolescents and women who come to the center in hopes of healing broken lives.
I will bring to the counseling table my intuitive ability to understand deep hurts while speaking truth into the lives of my clients. I use my training, my experiences and the Word of God to help my clients discover the freedom that comes from healing the broken places in their lives.
Women's issues
I have a passion to help women who are struggling with issues that cause them to lose a sense of self, purpose, and empowerment. Some of these issues might include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, grief and loss, and family/ personal relations. I also desire to come alongside women as they struggle with a spouse dealing with sexual addiction and/or acting out homosexually.
Adolescent issues
I look forward to the opportunity to work with teens that struggle with the pressures of growing up in the 21st century. I have substantial experience and a desire to help those that struggle with anger, depression, low self esteem, abuse, peer pressure, promiscuity and same sex attraction.
Children's issues
There are many avenues to counseling with children. One of the most effective methods to working with children is through play therapy. Play is a metaphorical expression of the unspoken word. Many broken and hurting children struggle to find the words to express themselves, living in a vacuum of frustration. Play therapy is an avenue to break the barrier to the unspoken words. I have an interest in working with children who struggle with fear, anxiety, abuse, grief and loss, poor school performance and those whose parents are in a high conflict marriage as I help them find or rediscover their voice. The voice that says, "I matter"..."I am special"..."it's not my fault".
SPEAKING TOPICS:
I delight in the opportunity to speak to women's groups, retreats, workshops etc. I take great pleasure in using humor and storytelling to capture the hearts and minds of my audience. Feel free to contact me for upcoming engagements. Some of my topics include:
- Safe People
- Boundaries
- Healing Family Wounds
- Unhealthy emotional dependency (codependency)
- The role of our personality and birth order and how it affects us
- Taping into courage during the process of healing
Daniel R. Johnson M.Ed., LPC-Intern

Dan received his Master of Education-Counseling degree from the University of Houston and is a Licensed Professional
Counselor-Intern in the state of Texas. He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the
American Counselors Association. Completing his practicum at the Julianna Poor Memorial Counseling Center at Houston's First
Baptist Church, Dan has worked with individuals, couples, adolescents, therapy groups, marriage intensives, and is certified
in the Prepare/Enrich Marriage Program.
During his 15 years in full time ministry, Dan had the opportunity to counsel and coach adults, teens, and couples, through many
relational and trauma related life experiences. He has taught individuals and led groups on topics such as spiritual growth, healthy
boundaries, dynamics of interpersonal relationships, and issues specific to marriage, men, families and teens. He enjoys teaching /
speaking to small or large groups on a variety of life topics.
He has a vision for couples, individuals, and adolescents, to discover the
balance and wholeness possible in a life giving relationship with the Father, and to journey beside them through life's joys and struggles.
Dan desires to see these individuals discover and live life with new passion. Coming from a career in ministry, he has an understanding for
the unique environment and challenges that church staff may encounter. His experience has taught him that when a heart and mind are healthy
and unified, staff is able to serve out of the overflow in their lives, rather than from the reserves. Dan's approach to counseling is founded
on a Biblical world-view and a competent psychotherapy foundation, which will be interpersonal, affective, cognitive, and rational emotive based therapy.
God has richly blessed my family and me during these past several years as we prepared
for His purpose and direction. I am excited about what He has in store for the future! Looking forward to journeying with you and those you may send my way.
Live deep and struggle well!
